They recently purchased an older home, remodeled and moved in. The home is located on 10 beautiful acres in the mountains of Arkansas, features a beautiful stocked pond, and has the relaxing atmosphere of a private resort. My boys spent the day on the pond in a paddle boat with fishing rods. This morning, on a whim, I clicked on my Blogger button and took a stroll down
memory lane. I was nearly in tears as I read through the many happenings in the
life of our little Beard family over six years ago. It hurts my heart to know
I've missed blogging so many wonderful occasions but I'm so thankful for the

August 27, 2014: Elijah has looked forward to going to school for years... probably since he was old enough to understand what school is. He was so excited about starting kindergarten. Until the day arrived... then he was so nervous. I prayed with him and gave him many pep talks. When it came right down to it, he did so well! He later told me how scared he was and Nettie Beardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07780458164473461019noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958740456890233034.post-91431032936788602132016-01-06T11:36:00.003-06:002016-01-06T11:36:23.671-06:00Catching Up: Elijah's Kindergarten picture
How handsome can one little boy be? Is he not the cutest? I wasn't sure what to expect because, well, you know how school pictures can be... but this one turned out awesome! Way to go, Buddy!

Elijah turned 6 on October 5, 2014; we celebrated with family and friends in our home. I was excited to put my new cake decorating skills to practice! I celebrated Elijah's birthday at school with cupcakes and drinks. He was so excited to share his birthday with his new friends!

Over on Facebook, a lot of my friends have been listing something they're thankful for each day of November. Believe it or not, there have been critics who post that "we should be thankful all year long" and openly refuse to participate. Yes, it's true. We should be thankful every day of our lives. I agree and try to practice thanksgiving all year long. I'm really enjoying seeing the relationship between Elijah and Gabriel develop. Elijah loves to play rough and tumble - and because Gabriel adores his big brother, he tries to play rough and tumble too. It would be funny if Gabriel didn't end up crying all the time! He's just not ready to play as rough as Elijah. A couple weeks back I was super excited to find out our pastor had invited Dad to speak in our church. I think most of my readers know about Dad's accident back in December. Last week, our pastor invited our congregation into his home to watch "Captivated". I'd never heard of the movie before. Chris and I were very moved by the content of this documentary. Since staying home, there are days/weeks where you look at the stack of bills and wonder "what were we thinking?". Did we really do the right thing? I feel like we are still trying to find our financial footing. I find that it's really easy to get too focused on what we don't have than what we do have. It's in those moments that I like to look around and focus on our real Nettie Beardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07780458164473461019noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958740456890233034.post-41029310256083807872013-09-05T14:17:00.000-05:002013-09-05T14:17:49.773-05:0015 years... and counting!!!
15 years seems like such a monumental anniversary number. In today's secular world, it is a big number. But when I think about Godly couples I know, who've been married 40, 50, 60, 70 years.... well, we've only just begun. I truly want to be one of those couples who look back at their 15th anniversary and say "we had only just began!" By God's grace, we will be!
